Kuk Sool Won brings benefits to each and every martial artist. We all gain tangible skills but also something deeper. For some of us it is space to feel challenged, for some it is the mental challenge and others it is the healthy lifestyle that our martial art affords. Grading time is almost upon us again and we look forward to seeing all of our students show their knowledge and demonstrate their fitness. Kuk Sool Won Glasgow is always pleased to welcome new students. We enjoy seeing people grow from complete beginners to white belts and start to pick up the foundation forms and techniques. One of our newer additions to the school, Nabeel, has done just that.

Whether you are a white belt or testing for your black belt, attitude is everything.

One of the great things about Kuk Sool Won is the challenge that it brings. Our martial art involves fitness and flexibility, strength and power, but it also challenges the brain. We practice the correct etiquette. We learn techniques and forms, how to use weapons and as we move through the ranks, we learn Korean.

KSW Glasgow is fast approaching the 4th Anniversary of opening. One of the best things that comes with this milestone is seeing students, who came to us as beginners, become black belts.  At the 2017 Scottish tournament we had our first student who started their Martial Arts training with us achieve the rank of Jo Kyo Nim (1st Degree Black Belt). She also happens to be an English teacher so we asked her to write about her experience in Kuk Sool Won over the last 3 and a half years. Here is JKN Fiona’s story.
