About this class

This class is dedicated to nak bup: the falling, rolling, and acrobatic skills used throughout Kuk Sool Won. A short, focused 30-minute session designed to build confidence and agility, develop acrobatic skills, and help students stay relaxed and safe when being thrown.

The class is suitable for all ranks. Beginners will learn safe and reliable ways to fall and roll, while more experienced students can refine existing skills or work towards more advanced acrobatic movements.

What to expect

Each session begins with structured practice of break falls and rolling to reinforce good habits and keep skills sharp. From there, the focus shifts towards acrobatics and individual skill development.

Students will be guided to identify one or two specific skills appropriate to their level, such as improving a particular break fall, roll, cartwheel, or acrobatic movement. Time is then given to drill those skills with coaching and feedback.

The aim is to give you clear points of focus that you can continue to work on during this class and carry over into open training sessions if you choose to.

The topics we often cover in this class include:

  • Breakfalls and rolling, focusing on safety, technique and confidence.
  • Introductory to advanced acrobatics, scaled to individual ability.
  • Drilling and repetition to build confidence and consistency.
